            The Legend of Odin 

         

  Consequently, legends about the people 

of "Hunin" and "Munin" have been 

transmitted to Norse and the Old 

Germanic Mythology. The trace of a 

worship of "All-father" Odin survives 

even to the present day. Odin, leader 

(not God) of the Aesir was to develop 

nine civilizations, the Aeseir consisted of 

12 wise men and 12 wise women with 

equal ruling rights. Odin is often depicted

as a wise old man and a wanderer, for 

that reason, he has many names which 

reflect his appearance as a traveler: 

All-father, Wodan, Ygg, Bolverk, 

Grimmir, Hooded one, Wanderer, 

Broad hat, Graybeard, and Staff-bearer. 

  The two ravens that sat on the 

shoulders of Odin, and brought him 

news, were called Hunin and Munin. 

The forest ravens were used for 

communication between the Empires of 

the seven civilized nations the 

Helphtalites (Ephtalites) the original 

divisions of the seven ravens. The ravens 

have blue eyes and by comparison they 

possess a good level of intelligence, the 

crows' eyes are yellow, the body size of 

the crow is only 2/3rd of the raven.
