The real power
was handled by monk
György (Friar György
Martinez), who
also wears
governmental titles. He is the

the Transylvania
Principalities
institutions, and he is the one
that fastens to Transylvania
the provinces
of Temes/Timis and
the provinces over
the Tisza river. For a
short time the
Habsburgs succeed of
overtaking
Transylvania, but in
1556 queen Isabelle
and her son Zsigmond
János returns to
Transylvania, where they rule for one
and a half
decades. After this Zsigmond János, balancing between the Germans
and Turks, then
after his death the
Transylvanians live with
the opportunity,
gained from the
sultan, of liberal right to
choose their own
count.
