Rákoczi Zsigmond

                   (1544 - 1608)

  He is the founder of the Rákoczi family's 

wealth, the dynasty's first count. Before he 

become count 

of Transylvania 

he was captain, 

later military 

commander in 

Bocskai's army,

then the count's

substitute. After 

Bocskai's death 

became count 

for a short period of time, cause he 

resigned in the favor of Báthory Gábor to 

avoid the civil-war.

          Báthory Gábor

                   (1589 - 1613)

  From the famous Báthory family 

originated last count won the throne by 

being supported by the hussars and by 

Bethlen Gábor. Báthory Gábor if it was

about, he 

showed himself 

as protestant or 

catholic, his few 

years of ruling 

was filled with 

trouble. He had 

enemies from 

both inside and 

outside the 

country: the Saxons raised against him 

because he occupied Szeben (free royal 

town) with his army.
