he fills in local
functions at the time of his
brother Bethlen Gábor.
Then after his
brother's death
Transylvania's
governor next
to
Brandeburgi Katalin.
Then he gets
elected as
Transylvania's count
after Brandeburgi
Katalin's resigning.
But only after two
months he resigns for
Rákoczi György
the 1st's favor. After a
few years he changes
his mind and gaining
help from the Turks
he tries to regain
Transylvania, but he
gets stopped by
Rákoczi's army at
Szalonta.

Zsigmond,
Upper-Hungary's biggest
Reformed landowner.
Bethlen Gábor's
follower, who was
elected as count of
Transylvania by the
parliament of Segesvár.
As count,
he was
a great
farmer who
regained
the in private
hand founded
crown
properties.
He
supported the
Protestantism together
with his wife,
Lórántffy Zsuzsanna, and they founded and
supported lots of schools.

reorganized
the collages at Sárospatak
and
Gyulafehérvár.)
