count János Zsigmond,
but the real power
was held by governor

Habsburg
power:
Between the end of
1551 and 1556. During
this time Báthory
István, then Dobó István,
and at last Kendi
Ferenc were counts in
Transylvania, chosen
by the king Ferdinand Habsburg.
Szapolyai János Zsigmond:
1556-1571
He wears the title
of principality for the first
time.
Báthory István:
1571-1586

As since the year
of 1576 he becomes
the king of Poland,
entrusts Transylvania's
governing to his
older brother Báthory
Kristóf, and after
Kristóf's death the
state's governing
is followed by Báthory Zsigmond, who after all become
Transylvania's
prince.

between: 1598-1599;
For the third time:
in 1601;
For the fourth time
between: 1601-1602.
