Rabson promised him. But Ms.
Rabson
kept postponing the payment, and

nicely to the devil to keep his
temper down
on earth. Meanwhile she was

carting on her magic roads. But
after all the
devil stopped waiting and decided
to settle
this whole thing with her once
for all. When
he went angry to Ms. Rabson, she
couldn't
do anything but to pay the devil.
But the
payment was the trickiest anyone
could
imagine: she folded her tiny
little fingers of
one of her hands and placed a
gold coin
on; then she placed a silver coin
in the
other palm of her hands, and told
the devil:
There you go, here is
the mountain of
gold and the valley of silver.
